  16. just saw the Walker 'live', it is all things considered not a bad 
  17. design, and while it does look as if it escaped from the set for some 
  18. movie shot in Havanna, then it also appears to be very functional in a 
  19. living room. Had a chat with Michael Hohman from A-T (I think that was 
  20. his name) and he told me:

  23. a) no, it doesn't need a MMU because access to ROM is as fast as it is,
  24.    and most people only use the MMU for 'fastrom'ing anyway'.

  26. b) no, you can't see it with anything other than Scala, it is 'pre-
  27.    alpha', and no we can't run AIBB on it, even though it might be
  28.    more interesting for the 'hardliners' to watch than Scala.

  30. c: Tower? - yes, but it is *also* a tower, just add mid-sections to
  31.    the height you require.

  33. d: Why the EC, well - most people don't need the MMU anyway, and
  34.    the 40 Mhz 68EC03 has a very nice price, the alternative would
  35.    be to go up to a 50 Hhz MC68030, and the price of that one is
  36.    much less attractive.

  38. But hey, this is just a paraphrasing of what we talked about, so do not 
  39. read this as constituting neither his words, nor 'an interview', it is
  40. just what I remember from my 15 minute chat with him in german, OK? - 
  41. this does not constitute *a* statement from A-T!
